This was a great place to stay while visiting the many great parks in the area. The home is very comfortable and has everything you would need to have a great time. Chris and Handyman Bob were very informative about the area providing tips of things to do, maps, and available to answer any questions we had. Cell service is limited and you do need a 4wd car to get up the driveway in certain weather but it is worth it.

We just returned from a weekend at Blue Skies Lodge and I can’t say enough positive things about it — not even a day of freezing rain and cloudy skies could spoil the peace, beauty and coziness of this property. Chris and Kate were extremely flexible, responsive, and helpful throughout the rental process, and “The World’s Best Handyman” Bob Anderson was a wonderful help and guide as we arrived after dark. The photos don’t do the house justice — it is beautiful, well-equipped, and was cozy enough for a couple but spacious enough for a group of friends. The property and especially the observation field were the highlight of the stay — wonderful views, plenty of walking trails, and no neighbors in sight. We had one clear night, and the stars were as amazing as advertised. If you’re looking for a bit of civilization, the town of Coudersport was a quick drive and had delicious, inexpensive food options and incredibly friendly people. We quickly realized we needed a lot more than a weekend to explore the surrounding area, and are hoping to return to see some of the other seasons. We did a lot of research on the lodging options in the area before our trip, but no more — this will be our first and only choice for as long as they are willing to share!

Blue Skies Lodge makes you feel like you just entered the witness protection program! A breathtakingly beautiful location high up in the woods. I’m glad we were met and guided to the home because it would have been very difficult to find! Once we were there everybody discovered a clean, warm inviting home away from home. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed except food which we had packed a bunch of. Its rare to find a bed and breakfast or hotel that is exactly as advertised, but the Blue Skies Lodge actually exceeded our expectations! We are all looking forward to the opportunity to return!

I had the please of finding this location for star gazing what a fabulous location… the location is remote and off the grid to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of the electronic world. no shortage of peace and tranquility. this sweet cottage package a punch in such a small package. plenty of room for accommodation up to six people and pet friendly. very easy to book and reserve the property. Very friendly staff to work with. very accommodating. Any one looking to get away from the world should come to visit this location and if the weather is right you will have the best show in the world looking at the skies. I work in the travel industry for a large global travel agency and really you can not get this kind of accommodation at a better price and location and have such a person touch from the owners.

Really not enough room here to say all that I would like to say. This is a great place to go to and leave the city life behind. Just be sure that a nice isolated cabin in the woods with no neighbors, no streetlights and thus truly dark, and wildlife such as bears walking within 75 feet of your cabin is what you really want. If so then you cannot go wrong. If you have any doubts talk to the owners and ask questions. They are great people who will help you to decide if this is the right place for you!!

My wife and I have made the trip to Coudersport twice to visit this lovely cabin in the woods. The first time we were a bit apprehensive about how to prepare for a “Cabin” and we were very pleased with the beauty, quality and accomodation of Blue Skies Lodge. The house is newly renovated and everything is in perfect working order and of the best quality. The mattresses are new and the bedding is very good quality. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses pot/pans, and appliances, and we really appreciated the extra touches found all over the cabin (soaps, spices, etc.). The owners greeted us very warmly, and then we had the entire piece of land for the duration of our stay. The best feature for us is the 50 acres of complete privacy, including a 10 acre field from which we enjoyed the best star gazing on the East Coast. I will say, that if you are an action junkie, or need to be constantly entertained this might not be the best choice. We spent our days hiking in the plentiful woods, driving aimlessly around Potter county and strolling through the small downtown of Coudersport (stop in at Olga’s, Art Gallery and Bistro). Evenings were spent relaxing, star gazing and watching DVDs. When we dream of a perfect place in the woods, this is what we dream.
